Top 3 Pure Fighting Type Pokemon in Pokemon Go
Although Fighting-Type Pokemon have big weaknesses to Psychic and Fairy-Type Pokemon, these Pokemon have a very critical role in Pokemon Go thanks to their ability to quickly defeat the Snorlax and Blissey lurking inside many gyms. Fighting-Type Pokemon are the only Pokemon who have an advantage over those souped-up Normal-Type Pokemon, which makes them invaluable to trainers looking to conquer their local gym.
3. Primeape ( great Attack stat but crummy Stamina and Defense)
Max CP: 2105
CP | 2105 |
ATK | 207 |
DEF | 144 |
STA | 130 |
Best Moveset: Counter/Close Combat
Like most Fighting-Type Pokemon, Primeape is a bit of a glass cannon, with a great Attack stat but crummy Stamina and Defense. Although Primeape is capable of learning the devastatingly effective Counter/Close Combat moveset, its other moves are trash. If you don't have a Counter/Close Combat Primeape, it's better to just leave this one at home and pick a Pokemon with stronger attacks.
2. Hitmonlee ( great Attack and Defense stats but crummy Stamina stat)
Max CP: 2406
CP | 2406 |
ATK | 224 |
DEF | 211 |
STA | 100 |
Best Moveset: Rock Smash/Close Combat
Hitmonlee is a pretty effective Fighting-Type Pokemon, with great Attack and Defense stats. Hitmonlee does have a crummy Stamina stat, so it's probably not the best choice to use as a gym defender, but it should stand a fighting chance of clearing any Blissey or Snorlax out of your gym pretty quickly. If you're trying to evolve a Tyrogue into Hitmonlee, be sure to appraise it first. Tyrogue will only evolve into Hitmonlee if it has a higher Attack IV stat than its Defense or Stamina IVs.
1. Machamp (perfect counter to wiping out Snorlax and Blissey )
Max CP: 2889
CP | 2889 |
ATK | 234 |
DEF | 162 |
STA | 180 |
Best Moveset: Counter/Close Combat
For most players, Machamp will be the strongest Fighting-Type Pokemon they'll ever encounter in the game. With great Attack and Stamina stats, Machamp is the perfect counter to wiping out Snorlax and Blissey from gyms and is also a viable top-level play in gyms. Machamp's biggest disadvantage is that its potential moveset contains two Steel-Type attacks, so there's a very good chance your Machamp will wind up with a move that doesn't have a same type attack bonus.
